Second Letter to the Fishermen

A second notification letter to our valued fishermen fleet:

As the season is approaching, we would like to offer our fishermen guidelines for this season in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To protect the fleet, the employees, and the community, we are urging the fleet to follow the new policies and guidelines below for this summer:


 

General Health and Safety Guidelines


Below are some guidelines and etiquette tips to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. We urge all community members to follow these guidelines as much as possible.


Follow coughing and sneezing etiquette:

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes

  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or tissue

  • Sanitize your hands immediately after with liquid-based hand sanitizer, if available


Public Interactions

  • Stand at least 6 feet away from others

  • Wear a mask and gloves, if available

  • Do not share drinks and personal items with others


Hands

  • Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with warm/hot water and soap

  • Sanitize your hands with liquid-based hand sanitizer, as much as possible

  • Avoid touching your face


Lifestyle

  • Clean and disinfect your living area, as much as possible

  • Disinfect groceries when returning from the stores


 

Isolation Period Delivery Services

Camtu’s Alaska Wild Seafoods will be offering delivery services from April 4th until fishing begins. We can delivery parts, tools, and groceries to a fisherman’s vessel/stall during their 14-day isolation period. This service is offered on Saturdays only. All orders must be called-in, prepaid, and prepared for pickup by noon. Pickups and deliveries will be done after 2pm.

We are also offering grocery deliveries via tender vessels, as usual.

Protocols for Fishermen During Deliveries

We urge all fishermen during deliveries to follow the safety protocols below to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 to others during fishing operations:


  • During deliveries to dockworkers and tender vessels, please stand at least 6 feet apart from others and remain on your vessel as much as possible.

  • If available, please sanitize your hands before signing fish tickets.

  • Wear masks, if available.


 

Office Visitation Policy: 2020 Season

Dear valued fishermen of Cordova:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, we are making policy changes for office visits to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, to protect our employees, the fleet, and the community.

We thank every for your cooperation and hoping everyone is safe and well.

New Visitation Policy

We encourage all visitors to utilize cellphone and email communication methods in lieu of office visits as much as possible. Main office contacts are listed below.

Office visits will be by appointment only. Please schedule with the contacts listed below.

9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

We will be offering check mail-out services as usual, but we encourage it more this season. Please contact and confirm your mailing address with the office manager to request mail-out services.

Fishermen checks will be distributed by the cashier at the front register of the store this year.
